hike the pike traverse
At 978m tall, England’s highest peak is an absolute must for any avid walker. Around a quarter of a million people summit every year and many complete it more than once, choosing to enjoy the climb in different seasons. The rocky terrain makes it a physically-demanding day but the views at the top are phenomenal!

This challenge is difficulty ranked: 2.5 out of 5.
Expect longer distance or higher altitude gain, yet neither will be mutually exclusive! Terrain underfoot will be on well used trails but with the likelihood of some rougher features. These events would suit someone of good all round fitness, who takes exercise regularly - without neccessarily being of high fitness. Escape routes are available but may take some time to utilise.
You must be active with a moderate fitness level. You should be going out for regular walks and other sports (swimming / football / gym etc.) You should be comfortable with longer walks of 3.5-4 hours over 9-11 miles in rolling countryside. Good all round fitness & leg strength is expected.
